I don't dislike the idea of improving the XP situation on players who are leveling alts, but I think there are better ways of doing it than simply applying an XP boost or XP-to-level reduction on all players. It's simple enough to check if a player has a character level X or higher, why not give the XP bonus just to players who have met that criteria?

Likewise, I'm not against making things easier for new players who are joining the game to play with friends. That's where mentoring and CoX-style sidekick systems work beautifully.

I actually agree with idea of making 20-70 easier, I think EQ2 has reached a point in it's lifespan that most people are leveling alt's and who wants to spend 160 hours doing that? You are 100% correct though about building a better game.
